German discount supermarket chain Aldi has announced that it has 1,700 new full and part time warehouse vacancies to fill before the end of 2023.

The recruitment drive is being fuelled by Aldi’s expansion plans which include ambitions of opening one new supermarket every week until the Christmas holidays.

Aldi currently has around 1,000 supermarkets across the United Kingdom but hopes to boost that figure to 1,200 within the next three years.

Announcing the hundreds of new jobs at its regional distribution centres, Aldi UK’s Director of Recruitment, Kelly Stokes, said: “As we continue to grow and attract new shoppers, we need even more amazing colleagues at our distribution sites to make everything possible.”

“As well as healthcare and lifestyle perks, being a part of the Aldi team means a great working environment. With it being an exciting time for the business there are also real opportunities to progress,” added Ms Stokes.

Roles on offer at Aldi warehouses across the UK include:

- Flow Planner

- Health and Safety Manager

- Logistics Apprentice

- Warehouse Cleaner

- Warehouse Deputy

- Warehouse Logistics Assistant

- Warehouse Manager

- Warehouse Manager (Stock & Systems)

- Warehouse Section Leader

- Warehouse Selectors

On its careers site for warehouse roles, Aldi says: “Our warehouses are vast, so there are lots of different roles. But they all have one thing in common - they're all essential. Every role plays a part in getting products into every store to deliver to our customers.”

“For our daytime roles, we've got excellent hourly rates, and for those who choose to work during the night, the pay's even higher. A night shift premium applies for any hours worked between 10pm and 4am.”
