Discount chain Primark is set to open its first new store in over two years, a move which will create around 100 new full and part time jobs in Wiltshire.

The vacancies will come at the new Primark Salisbury and the store is expected to open in the cathedral city this September.

A range of retail jobs will be on offer at Primark Salisbury including stockroom staff, retail assistants, team members, merchandisers and more.

Pay rates for all of the new staff will be at least £11 per hour and recruitment for some of the roles already got underway at the start of this week (July 3rd 2023). Staff can also look forward to discount of up to 15 per cent on in-store items.

Primark Salisbury, to be located in Old George Mall, will be the fashion chain’s 192nd store in the United Kingdom and will be spread over two floors of what used to be the city’s BHS store.

Commenting on the latest branch opening, Christopher Carter, the store manager at Primark Salisbury, said: “Our construction team has been busy getting the store ready over the last few months and now it's time for the next step on our journey.”

“We know that Salisbury shoppers have been eagerly awaiting the opening, so we can’t wait to welcome them to the store,” added Mr Carter.

As well as the UK & Ireland, Primark also operates in more than a dozen other countries including the United States, Spain, Germany and France. In total, they have more than 400 stores and employ over 70,000 people worldwide.
