Superdrug To Create Over 550 New Full & Part Time Retail Jobs In The UK

Health and beauty chain Superdrug has announced expansion plans which create over 550 new full and part time retail jobs across the United Kingdom.

Superdrug is to open 25 new stores during 2023 and will create an average of over 20 vacancies with the launch of each new branch.

Two stores set to launch soon will be located at London Brent Cross and Manchester Trafford Centre. In total, Superdrug expects to create 570 new roles this year.

The retailer is also going to improve and modernise a further 70 existing stores throughout 2023

Announcing the expansion plans, Nigel Duxbury, the property director for Superdrug, said: “High streets and retail parks are the beating heart of our communities and an essential part of our economy. Our investment in bricks and mortar will help us continue to stretch, shape, and deliver for our customers in the future, as well as helping transform communities into vibrant places to live, work and shop.”

Peter Macnab, Superdrug’s Chief Executive Officer, also commented, saying: “Recent years have seen seismic changes in our sector, and constantly evolving customer expectations. An investment of this scale demonstrates our resilience in the face of continuing social and economic challenges, but also our confidence and commitment to our customers and communities.”

Owned by A.S. Watson (Health & Beauty UK), Superdrug provides full and part time jobs for over 14,000 members of staff in a wide variety of roles.
