Aldi Creating 500 New Apprenticeships Across The UK

German discount supermarket chain Aldi has announced plans to create 500 new apprenticeships across the United Kingdom.

The grocer, which took on 6,000 new members of staff in 2023, has now opened up its apprenticeship programme for 2024.

Aldi, is a frequent inclusion in ‘Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer’ lists and young people who join the chain can access benefits such as in-store discount, paid breaks, mortgage advice and a bike-to-work scheme.

A variety of apprenticeships are available at Aldi, including in-store, buying, HGV driving and logistics.

Store Apprentices at Aldi start out on hourly pay of £8.44 but can earn up to £11.83 per hour by their third year on the programme.

Aldi logistics apprentices can look forward to hourly wages of £10.96, whilst drivers can earn even more, with up to £14.13 on offer.

Launching the latest drive for apprentices at the supermarket, Aldi UK’s Director of Training and Development, Lisa Murphy, said: “We’re on the lookout for hardworking and driven individuals to bolster our Aldi team. By joining our apprenticeship scheme, individuals will become experts in their role and receive in-depth skills training at one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country.”

“The apprentices of today are the leaders of tomorrow, so we’re always on the hunt for more amazing individuals from all backgrounds to join our team,” added Ms Murphy.
