Civerinos To Create Dozens Of Pizza Jobs In Glasgow

Civerinos, a chain of restaurants specialising in New York style pizzas, will create dozens of jobs in Glasgow with the launch of a new branch in the Scottish city.

Around 40 full or part time jobs will be up for grabs at the new restaurant which will open on Radnor Street in the Finnieston area of Glasgow next month.

Roles available at the new Civerinos venue, its first in Glasgow, will include pizza chefs, preparation chefs, front of house staff and managerial positions.

Popular with students, staff perks at Civerinos include free pizzas when you are working and a 50 per cent discount even when you aren’t on shift.

The first Civerinos restaurant was opened in 2014 at Hunter Square in Edinburgh’s old town. Since then the company has launched two further ‘slice bars’ in Edinburgh; Forrest Slice on Forrest Road and Prom Slice on Portobello Beach.

The chain is now looking to expand to other areas and plans to open a second branch in Glasgow in the near future.

Announcing the venture, Mark de'Mar, the director of operations for Civerinos, said: “It’s been years of dreaming and planning leading up to this point. We’re almost ready to open and we want to build our Glasgow dream team.”

“People are everything. We’re on the hunt for people with a zest for life and who understand that hospitality is about treating everyone well, whether that’s inside or outside of work.”

“So many great people have left hospitality in recent years. There’s no avoiding it, the industry has a bad reputation. But we’re all about changing the narrative by providing a great place to work and being an example of how great a career in hospitality can be,” added Mr de’Mar.

Speaking while the company was still sourcing potential venues in Glasgow last year, the Chief Executive Officer of Civerinos, Michele Civeria, said: “We’ve been trying to get to Glasgow since 2020 and after a few stumbles along the way - and a whole pandemic - I’m delighted to now get started on opening our west coast Slice venues. Come visit us for a slice when we open.”
