Vortex Business Park To Create Over 400 New Full & Part Time Jobs In Cheshire

The Vortex Business Park, an industrial estate in Ellesmere Port, will create over 420 jobs in Cheshire according to developers.

Work is about to get underway on the huge new facility close to Ellesmere Port’s New Bridge Road and forecasts of up to 420 new full and part time jobs have been made.

Plans for the development were given the green light in 2022 by Cheshire West and Chester Council and investment of almost £12 million from the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone, Cheshire & Warrington Development Fund and the Northwest Evergreen 1 Fund has allowed work to start soon.

The Vortex Business park will feature five industrial units across a total of more than 19,500 square metres and a variety of roles will be up for grabs at the site.

Announcing the recruitment drive, the chair of Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Clare Hayward, said: "The Vortex scheme will add a much-needed new supply of smaller industrial units to the Ellesmere Port market, creating 420 new jobs and generating an additional £70m a year to the local economy.”

“Over the last six years we have seen the transformation of brownfield sites along Newbridge Road, with schemes such as Helix, Rhino Products and the Progroup cardboard manufacturing plant, all supported through the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone.”

"We are delighted to be able to provide support for this latest scheme both through the Cheshire and Warrington Development Fund and the Enterprise Zone,” added Ms Hayward.

The director of lending at CBRE Capital Advisors (a firm which advised the parties to the deal), Herbin Duffield, also commented, saying: “This is a major step forward for the development, and a significant boost to the economic prospects of the area, demonstrating the benefit impact funding can have.”

“We were pleased to work in tandem with the Cheshire & Warrington LEP and the owner of the development to provide a loan that works efficiently for our Borrower alongside grant funding,” added Mr Duffield.
