Discount fashion and homeware chain Primark has announced plans for 850 new full or part time retail jobs with plans to launch a minimum of four new UK stores.

The four new Primark locations already earmarked are set to open in Bury St. Edmunds, Craigavon, Salisbury and Teesside Park - but more new branches of the chain could follow in the company’s latest £140 million investment plans.

Primark is also expecting to use some of the investment funds to refurbish existing stores in a new round of spending over the next two years.

Hundreds of jobs will be created by the launch of new stores, with full and part time positions on offer to include in-store retail roles along with head office positions.

The discount chain now has over 120 stores in the UK and employs around 30,000 members of staff in a wide variety of full and part time roles.

Announcing the company’s latest expansion plans, Paul Marchant, Primark’s chief executive officer, said:

“The UK is our biggest market. And, as we continue to grow and expand our business internationally, we remain as committed as ever to investing in our stores to offer more customers our great value clothing, beauty, homewares and much more.”
