Yodel, the parcel delivery firm, is creating a whopping 4,000 seasonal Christmas jobs for the period leading up to the festive holidays in 2022.

The recruitment drive is even more ambitious than its 2020 hiring spree when the company took on 3,000 seasonal workers for the Christmas holidays.

With online orders increasing year by year, the run up to Christmas is one of the busiest periods for businesses such as Yodel. This year the firm is expecting to have handled over 200 million parcels, with a disproportionate percentage of those towards the last few weeks of the year.

Jobs will be on offer at Yodel for the Christmas period this year at more than 50 areas across the UK. Roles to be advertised include parcel sorters and couriers on both day and night shifts, along with some team manager roles.

Launching the recruitment drive for thousands of new seasonal staff this year, Yodel’s chief executive, Mike Hancox, said: “Christmas is always our busiest time of the year, but with 2022 bringing additional World Cup-related shopping, we’re anticipating a festive season like never before.”
