Yorkshire Building Society To Create 100 Jobs In Bradford & Leeds

The Yorkshire Building Society has announced plans to create a further 100 new jobs in Bradford and Leeds by the close of 2013.

The 100 new positions will be filled before the end of this year and are in addition to the 100 jobs the building society has already created so far in 2013.

Speaking after posting impressive half year financial results showing profits up by around 12 per cent, Chris Pilling, chief executive of the Yorkshire Building Society, said: “The new phase in our growth includes
the planned opening in the coming months of a new office in Leeds, which will see up to 1,000 colleagues based in the city centre, as well as investing £11m in our principal Bradford site, and £5m invested in our offices in Cheltenham and Peterborough.”

Mr Pilling said that the 100 new jobs in Leeds and Bradford would be roughly split between the two West Yorkshire cities and would consist of ‘a variety of roles across the society.’

It is likely that the Bradford jobs will be operational roles whereas the new jobs at Broad Gate in Leeds will consist of a mix of finance, marketing and product development positions.
