M&S Need To Fill 20,000 Christmas Jobs In 2010

M&S Need To Fill 20,000 Christmas Jobs In 2010 Wow! We can hardly keep up with the number of Christmas jobs on offer for 2010!

Today, Marks & Spencer (M&S) have become the latest big retailer to announce their staffing requirements for the 2010 Christmas and New Year holidays. The popular high street outlet has said they would like to fill a staggering 20,000 Marks & Spencer jobs for the hectic festive break.

The 20,000 temporary positions and part time jobs over Christmas are spread throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. They represent a fantastic opportunity to make some money over Christmas at the same time as getting a foot in the door with a much respected retail employer. Almost a quarter of the annual intake of students who started graduate retail jobs with M&S this year had already worked in a temporary or part time job at the company previously. So, working in a Marks & Spencer job at Christmas really could be the start of a very rewarding retail career.

Director of Retail at M&S, Steve Rowe, spoke of the benefits and training that successful applicants for these Christmas jobs can expect: “We offer an excellent benefits package to seasonal staff, and all our new recruits take part in a two-day induction training session so that they are fully-equipped to ensure our customers receive the best possible service.”

Don’t expect to be able to sit back and relax in these M&S Christmas jobs though – last year close to 30 million customers visited Marks & Spencer stores in the last few shopping days before Christmas. You should expect to work at least 16 hours a week, sometimes at weekends, evenings and possibly even on the main Christmas and New Year bank holidays.
