Public Sector Recruitment To Stay Strong This Year

Public Sector Recruitment To Stay Strong This Year There’s some encouraging news for anyone interested in a graduate job in the public sector as experts forecast that recruitment spending in the sector will stay strong this year.

In spite of some forecasts predicting that spending would be drastically cut, it is claimed that certain areas in the public sector will create new jobs. For example, the benefits sector is currently creating more opportunities to deal with people who found themselves out of work due to the recession.

Also, by trying to reduce costs and improve existing revenue streams, local councils will create new jobs in such fields as traffic management, checking out benefit claims more thoroughly and boosting their coffers with parking fees and fines.

The Synergy Group, which provides training resources, management and services to both the private and public sectors, agrees that although there will be an overall cut in the public sector budget, there will still be new general positions and graduate jobs to be filled.

Synergy run the KickstartTM programme which has helped over two thousand people and more than 100 organisations to train for specific positions during the interview process.

People from a private sector background who are finding it difficult secure a new job will find help to train for roles in the public sector.

The Managing Director of Synergy, Kieran Ryan, says that: “This will hopefully allow those private sector workers who have been hit by the recession to gain employment in the public sector and reduce the current estimated unemployment figure of three million.” Ryan believes that many of the public sector vacancies will be at entry-level providing some great opportunities this year.
