Novotel is part of the Accor group of hotels which also includes the Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Mercure, Adagio, ibis and hotelF1 chains (amongst others).

The first Novotel hotel was opened in the mid 1960s at Lille Lesquin in France, but there are around 400 Novotel hotels worldwide. As well as France, the chain now has a presence in dozens of countries including Germany, Holland, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Australia, Canada, China, Russia and the United States of America.

In total, Novotel boasts over 75 thousand hotel rooms and employs over 30 thousand members of staff in a variety of full and part time roles. Parent company Accor has over 440 thousand rooms at 3,500 hotels in close to 100 countries.

In the United Kingdom, Novotel has around 30 hotels with around a third of them in London. Outside of the capital, you will find the Novotel hotel brand in other English towns and cities like Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Nottingham, Reading, Ipswich, Bristol, York, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Southampton. In Scotland and Wales, there are Novotel hotels at Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

So, as you can see, the Novotel brand has a presence in many UK areas which are popular with students.
