Restaurant Chain Turtle Bay to Create Dozens of Jobs in Glasgow City Centre

Turtle Bay, the Caribbean-themed restaurant and bar chain, is making its Scottish debut with the opening of its first location in Glasgow.

The eatery is on the lookout for a new team to provide fantastic customer experiences in the heart of the Scottish city - and students would be perfect for most of the roles on offer.

The expansion plans are set to create dozens of job opportunities in Glasgow, with the aim of recruiting staff who can offer a spirit of positivity and a strong desire to learn.

Announcing the recruitment plans to create around 50 vacancies in Glasgow, Gemma Lewis, the operations manager at Turtle Bay, emphasised the firm’s unique approach to hiring, saying:

“We’ve always focused on recruiting and hiring a team who exude the energy and excitement that Turtle Bay gives to its guests.”

“For us, attitude and fit are much more important than hospitality experience,” added Ms Lewis.

Potential candidates are expected to be fast learners who will be able to pick up skills quickly whilst working in the restaurant.

The company has a recruitment day planned for Wednesday, November 8. It will be held at the Maldron Hotel on Renfrew Street, Glasgow.

To attend, interested candidates should pre-register online and the event promises in-person interviews and engaging group activities.

According to bosses, it's not just about finding the right fit for the team; the day will also provide a chance for potential candidates to get a detailed understanding of the Turtle Bay brand.

Turtle Bay's success in England and Wales has paved the way for its expansion into Scotland, marking Glasgow as the 52nd location since the brand's establishment in 2010.

Located at 130 St Vincent St, Glasgow, Turtle Bay is bringing its signature soulful Caribbean-inspired menu, delicious tropical cocktails and reggae beats to the heart of the city centre.

This new venture is not just an exciting time for Turtle Bay but also an opportunity to provide long-term employment opportunities for the local area as they aim to bring Caribbean good times to Glasgow.

To attend the recruitment day and explore the potential roles in the kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams, applicants can pre-register online on Turtle Bay’s recruitment website.
