PKF Francis Clark Creating Dozens of Entry Level Jobs Next Year

Chartered accountants PKF Francis Clark has announced plans to create dozens of entry level jobs next year.

The tax and accountancy firm, which also offers business advisory services, has already created 55 entry level jobs for apprentices and graduates during 2023, but is looking to ramp up recruitment plans and hopes to take on a further 80 young people from the same demographic next year.

Speaking at the time of the last major intake of apprentices earlier this year, managing partner Andrew Richards, said: “Growing our own talent is an important part of our culture, so we look forward to supporting our new trainees to gain the breadth and depth of skills and experience that will set them up for a successful and rewarding career.”

“The number and calibre of applications we received for our apprenticeship programmes was hugely encouraging and reflects the work we are doing with schools, colleges and universities to bust myths about our profession and inspire talented young people to pursue careers in accountancy and tax.”

“For example, you don’t need to study maths or accounting and finance to join our graduate apprenticeship scheme; our new recruits studied subjects as diverse as classics, law, exercise and nutrition, human genetics and sustainable production design.”

“What we look for above all is aptitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients,” added Mr Richards.

All of next year’s apprenticeships and school leaver opportunities will be based at PKF Francis Clark offices in the South and South West regions at towns and cities including Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Poole, Salisbury, Southampton, Taunton, Torquay and Truro.

The company, which has been named as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer by the Department of Education, has two intakes for entry level applicants next year; one at the start of the year in January 2024 and another seven months later in August 2024.

In addition to the 80 entry level roles in 2024, PKF Francis Clark is also boosting its ranks by hiring a further 110 experienced staff over the next year.

Announcing the recruitment news, Amy Taylor, the chief people officer at PKF Francis Clark, said: “Alongside our ongoing recruitment of experienced professionals as we continue to grow, we’re stepping up our early careers recruitment for next year to ensure we have the capacity and skills to serve our growing client base in the future.”

"Our latest recruits have settled in well and are already making an impact and we’re delighted to be able to offer even more career opportunities to school leavers, graduates and career changers across our region next year.”

“Applications so far are well ahead of this time last year, reflecting our growing reputation as a great place to work and the efforts our recruitment team are putting into engaging with schools, colleges and universities,” added Ms Taylor.
