Ernst & Young Advise Students To Look Further Afield For Graduate Jobs

Ernst & Young Advise Students To Look Further Afield For Graduate Jobs If you are focusing your efforts exclusively on graduate finance jobs in London then Ernst & Young, the accountancy firm, is advising you to cast your net a little wider.

A spokesman for the company said that competition was high for finance jobs for graduates so people should look outside the major cities if they are serious about filling a graduate vacancy this year.

Ernst & Young are themselves expecting to recruit 900 graduates to begin graduate careers in accountancy and finance with them next year. That’s an increase of almost a third on the firm’s 2009 graduate intake.

Stephen Isherwood, UK head of graduate recruitment at Ernst & Young, said: "Not all of the jobs available to graduates are located in the UK's major cities. Graduates need to get on their bikes for work this year, look around for opportunities and be prepared to be flexible. There are some fantastic opportunities to work for major global organisations like Ernst & Young, based in towns up and down the country such as Reading and Southampton, which provide the same career development opportunities as being based in a major UK city."

Luckily for you we have specialised pages for graduate finance jobs in just the sort of places that Mr Isherwood is thinking of. In fact you will find both a Graduate Finance Jobs in Reading page and a Graduate Finance Jobs in Southampton page on the E4S website. But, if your heart really is set on the capital, then try out our graduate finance jobs in London too.
