Enact Conveyancing To Create 160 Jobs In Hull

Enact Conveyancing, a remortgaging specialist, has announced plans to create 160 new full or part time jobs in Hull by the end of 2018.

The company, based in nearby Leeds, is to open new offices in Hull city centre as it looks to expand its business to complete over 100,000 mortgage transactions this year.

Enact Conveyancing already employs over 500 people in Leeds and handles around a quarter of all remortgage conveyancing transactions in the UK. Once it finishes its hiring spree in Hull, the firm will employ almost 700 members of staff in full and part time roles in Yorkshire.

Praising the Yorkshire city, Enact Conveyancing’s Managing Director, Ben Carroll, said: “There is a strong talent pool. It has a strong university and we are also keen train up employees well so there is a really good opportunity here. We have actually been looking at Hull for a number of years. We’ve always been a Yorkshire based business and were keen to continue our expansion here.”

“We were keen to come here because of the talent pool in the region, because it is well connected for transport, by road and rail, but also one of the big pulls has been the City of Culture.

“It’s a really significant investment for us as a firm. The Hull base will be about 30 per cent of our headcount overall, so it shows the sort of growth we are continuing right now. The offices here will be really complementary to what we have in Leeds, and the connectivity between the two will be of huge importance,” concluded Mr Carroll.

Recruitment has already begun for the Hull jobs but around 80 per cent of the positions are still up for grabs. Vacancies include roles as legal assistants, conveyancers and customer service advisors.

One of the newest recruits to Enact, Martin Procter, a Customer Service Team Leader, commented on his recent hiring, saying: “I’m delighted to be joining Enact at this exciting phase in its growth. The new office is amazing. A good mix of history and ultra-modern amenities. I think it will attract a lot of people who are looking for a more rewarding working environment.”
