Travelodge Creates 1,000 New Hotel Jobs In The UK

Travelodge has announced plans for a recruitment burst which will see it create 1,000 new hotel jobs in the UK.

A range of roles at every level will be on offer, with everything from receptionists up to managerial positions up for grabs.

Some of the vacancies will be temporary positions, with around 300 summer jobs to be advertised by Travelodge. The other 700 vacancies, to be based at more than 500 hotels all over the country, will be permanent positions at Travelodge.

Some positions in Egham and Woking and a few other places are already being advertised, but hundreds more will follow in the coming months. Around 40 hotel jobs are to be filled in Wales, with more than 20 hotels set to benefit from extra staff.

Travelodge’s Chief Operating Officer, Craig Bonnar, said: “We are currently recruiting for 1,000 people to join our Travelodge team. If you have passion, determination and a real desire to look after people then we will help you learn the rest. Joining a hotel company opens the door to training, career progression and even roles in new countries. At Travelodge, we are committed in developing our people.”

"We have a successful in-house management development programme in place that has helped hundreds of colleagues climb the career ladder into management via an entry level position. The world certainly is your oyster in the hospitality industry,” added Mr Bonnar.

Travelodge already employs more than 10,000 people in full time roles, part time positions and temporary jobs so the latest recruitment drive will see them increase their headcount by around 10 per cent.
