B&M To Create 60 Retail Jobs In Peterborough

B&M, the discount retail chain, has plans for a new Homestore which will create up to 60 full or part time retail jobs in Peterborough.

The new B&M will be located on the city’s Bridge Street, replacing a former Marks & Spencer store which closed recently.

The new outlet will open in the middle of March, creating a variety of retail roles such as sales assistant positions and cleaning jobs in this part of Peterborough. Some of the Peterborough jobs will be temporary positions but many will be for permanent members of staff.

Like the company’s other Homestores, the new outlet will sell a wide range of goods such as food, drink, DIY and beauty products.

Commenting on the new Peterborough store and the dozens of jobs it will bring to the area, a B&M spokesperson said: “We have just received the keys for the site so we’re all really excited to get the development underway and get the doors open.”

“We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The B&M expansion around the UK is showing little sign of slowing down, with the retailer notching up their 500th store in 2016. The new Peterborough branch follows quickly in the footsteps of another one at the city’s Boongate Retail Park which opened last year, creating around 100 more jobs for the area.
