Over 300 Birmingham Jobs At New Sainsbury’s Store In Longbridge

Over 300 full and part time Birmingham jobs will be tilled up when a new Sainsbury’s store opens at Longbridge in autumn this year.

Construction is already underway at the new site which will cover a space of over 4,500 square metres. As well as the usual supermarket facilities, there will also be a cafe and delicatessen at the new Sainsbury’s in Birmingham.

Tom Kirby, Sainsbury’s project manager, said they would recruit from the local community in Longbridge and that training would be provided before the new store opens in September. Recruitment has already been started but will continue for the next few months. Full and part time jobs on offer at the new Sainsbury’s will include check out staff, food counter and general assistants, as well as bakers, cafe staff and merchandisers.

“Vacancies will appear online in phases, so we would encourage those who are looking for a position to check our website regularly over the next couple of months. We are expecting high levels of interest in the vacancies, so to maximise the chance of being selected for interview, we would advise applicants to carefully consider their suitability for the role they are applying for before they submit their application,” said Mr Kirby.
