In our latest news of Christmas jobs for 2011, we are happy to announce that Poundland has now stated that it will have 2,000 holiday jobs available for the festive break.
The discount chain is looking for full and part time sales assistants to help them out at some of their 360 stores around the United Kingdom. By the time they hit Christmas, Poundland expects to be seeing five million customers pass through their doors each week.
The full and part time Christmas jobs on offer will run through until Christmas Eve, but there is a decent chance that some staff could be kept on for much longer. Last year, hundreds of the temporary workers that the firm took on for Christmas went on to permanent full and part time roles at the company’s stores.
Speaking about the Christmas jobs that Poundland have available this year, Chief Executive Officer, Jim McCarthy, said: “We need on average five or six extra colleagues in each store to help us cope with the busiest time of the year. The response so far has been fantastic; we’re looking for applicants with enthusiasm and determination, and people who are hard working to help deliver amazing value and service to our customers.”
