Tesco Mobile, the joint mobile phone network from Tesco and O2, will bring up to 160 full or part time call centre jobs to Runcorn in the north west of England with the opening of a new customer service centre at Preston Brook.
O2 already have premises at Preston Brook but the new facility will help Tesco Mobile customers with Pay As You Go and Pay Monthly enquiries. Tesco Mobile has a pretty good record when it comes to customer service. This year they received a JD Power and Associates award for customer satisfaction as the Best Pay As You Go network.
Tesco Mobile already employs over 300 people in full or part time call centre jobs at a nearby customer service centre in Bury. The new Runcorn site will compliment that operation when the 160 new staff are in place.
Speaking about the new call centre jobs, chief executive officer of Tesco Mobile, Lance Batchelor, said: “Tesco Mobile has created a unique space in the mobile industry as the real champion of great customer service. The new customer service centre has been launched to help the network grow while delivering the same high standards of service for all our customers. We are delighted to open this new customer service centre in Preston Brook, particularly at a time when jobs are most needed within the local community.”
