Anyone looking for graduate IT jobs in London will be glad to hear news of the latest research by McGregor Boyall, a multi-sector recruitment consultant that specialises in finance and IT jobs.
The new index from McGregor Boyall shows that the number of IT jobs in the finance sector almost tripled in January and February 2010 when compared with the same period last year. The number of permanent IT jobs available in the financial sector was up 288% and the number of contract or temporary positions rose by 270%. Those staggering spikes in just one year have got to be good news for those of you seeking London graduate jobs in IT.
Managing director at McGregor Boyall, Laurie Boyall, said that even though it could be a little too early to be certain that the rise was anything more than the normal spike in the new year, the increase in the number of financial IT jobs was more significant than anything else they had seen in the last two years.
Boyall added that, “This trend is typical of the early stages of recovery when the ability to hire on a permanent basis is constrained. However, the very sharp increase in the availability of permanent roles which is now outpacing contract requirements does seem to suggest an increasing level of confidence in the market.”
