Part Time Job And Holiday Job News

There could be up to 300 Glasgow jobs this Christmas as a shopping centre in the Pollock area looks to recruit extra staff for the holiday period.

More than 2,000 people work at the Glasgow shopping centre and over a third of them are from the local area. However, as with all shopping centres in the UK, the Christmas break is the busiest time of the year and there is always a step up in recruitment in the lead up to the holidays.

The shopping centre has over 90 stores which need people to fill their full time and part time Glasgow jobs. Big retailers such as Debenhams, Tesco, Boots, Marks & Spencer and New Look all have premises at the Silverburn Shopping Centre.

Working together with the Glasgow Regeneration Agency, the shopping centre will host a jobs fair on 30 September and 1 October to try to fill the Christmas jobs on offer.

The director of Silverburn Shopping Centre, David Pierotti, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity. Experience has shown that it is possible to carve out a great career in retail and we have numerous examples of staff who joined when Silverburn opened and now hold managerial positions.”
