Job Description
The Role
Small Animal Graduate Veterinary Surgeon position based in Backworth, Tyne and Wear.
Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Monday to Friday between 8am and 7pm. You will also be required to participate in a weekend rota and/or an out of hours on-call rota which will include working on weekends and bank holidays.
As a team, we ensure our graduates get a high level of support from day 1. Each graduate has a dedicated clinical coach and, as well as clinical time working alongside each other, dedicated catch up time on a weekly basis to discuss any worries and talk though any ongoing cases. Consults are initially 30 minutes for all appointments to allow plenty of time to perform the consult and seek advice from a colleague if needed. There is never any sole charge when operating and the graduate would only start sole consulting at a branch once both the graduate and their clinical coach were happy with this. Operating is also well supported with another vet having time dedicated to teaching new procedures until graduates are confident and there is always someone around to ask for support.
Salary
The salary for this role is £34,000 for year 1 increasing in year 2.
