Job Description

Join us as a Lead Internal Quality Assurance Specialist

Role is based on 24 Hours per week, (Please not this can be flexibly worked in Half and Full Days, with Fridays a preferable day)

Salary up to £19.200 per annum (Pro rata for £32,000 per annum salary)

Candidate preferred location is in the Midlands off of the M6 Corridor

The role will expect you to support the development of the IQA processes for both qualification and apprenticeship-based programmes. We currently work in the following sectors of apprenticeships (Hospitality, Outdoor Education, Early Years, Leadership and Management, Business Administration, Customer Service, and Agriculture) from Level 2 to Level 5, and deliver qualifications including (Functional Skills, Award in Education, Certificate in assessing vocational achievement, ILM L2,3 &5)

The support to the IQA process will include standardisation meetings, preparing for EQA visits supporting trainers in their development, and implementing the IQA strategy.

You will join a forward-thinking team delivering outstanding apprenticeships meeting the needs of the apprentices, employers, and stakeholders. Although a home-based role, working independently and managing your hours to meet the needs of all parties including and operational needs of STS the role does require you to travel as required.

Key role responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • To support STS with the IQA strategy requirements, working closely with the training specialists to ensure a high-quality provision is delivered to the apprentices.
  • Develop and manage resources to support learning across the different sectors including standardisation meetings.
  • Produce reports for stakeholders to ensure learner progress is monitored.
  • Contribute to the ongoing quality improvement plan and processes within Skern Training and Skills.
  • Collaborative work with all of the STS team to ensure auditable activities are captured.
  • Support the teaching observation team to continuously drive forward high-quality teaching and learning.
  • To ensure the EQA process across a range of different awarding bodies is successful.
  • Monitoring the internal system dashboard to report and action plan with the training specialists.

Typical knowledge, skills, and experience required:

Essential

  • Hold relevant industry (professional) related qualifications and certificates to complete the IQA process
  • Knowledge and ability to deliver AET/CAVA qualifications
  • Competent in the use of ICT to include Word, Excel, and Microsoft teams
  • A strong commitment to your own continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Efficient time management & organisational skills
  • GCSEs English and Maths (C or above or functional skills equivalent)

Desirable

  • Experience working with remote teams using teams with experience of virtual learning and e-portfolios
  • Knowledge of relevant Standards and qualifications
  • To hold a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or be prepared to work towards achieving this
  • Knowledge of the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework
  • Current clean, full, UK driving license and own vehicle appropriate for business use
  • Have experience of working within a range of different sectors (preferably Outdoor Education, Leadership and Management, Hospitality, Agriculture, and Early Years sectors) at Level 2 to Level 5
