Job Description

Who are we?

Haydn Evans Consulting Limited was founded in 2000 and has, in recent years experienced exponential growth, necessitating a move to newly refurbished premises in 2021 and with a view to extending this space early 2024.  Our company values sit at the heart of everything we do, allowing us to deliver outstanding consultancy services to our clients and achieve Engineering Technical Excellence on each and every project. We recognise that our team of individuals are key to this success, we place great value on individual professional development and progression whilst actively promoting and supporting positive health and wellbeing.

In August 2023, we became and Employee Owned Trust (EOT). This means that our employees effectively own the company! This new ownership structure reflects our ethos, that each employee has a key role to play in the overall success of the company.

Our Rail team work across the industry on civil and structural projects, carrying out inspections, reporting, asset management support and design of new works. Recent project work includes extensive inspections and reporting, in some cases on high-risk structures, platform reconstruction, canopy refurbishment, new depots, car parks, bridge reconstructions and other station works. The team has an excellent reputation and has experienced strong success.

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious Graduate Engineer to join our expanding team, working alongside our directors, engineers, and technicians to produce and deliver project work. You will predominantly sit within rail, but there will be opportunities to work across the wider company, building knowledge and experience of all disciplines over time. Whilst we are a relatively small company, we are proud to be specialists across a number of fields, including civils, structures, marine and rail, enabling us to offer a varied workload and opportunities to get involved with unusual and exciting projects.

You need to have a civil engineering degree or equivalent. Whilst work based experience within an Engineering consultancy environment would be an advantage, we are looking for individuals who are driven, able to work well in a fast-paced environment, eager to learn and keen to progress. You will need to be personable and able to communicate well with colleagues, fellow professionals, clients, and technical authorities. You will be versatile and have the ability to think on your feet, with a proven record of seeking out opportunities to broaden your experience and knowledge base.
