Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a recently qualified QS graduate to join our business, based at our Hampshire offices.


You will experience a variety of projects with a high level of responsibility from day one. You will be have hands on involvement with the commercial management of our projects which include inspection, maintenance, repair and construction of maritime structures. You will be constantly challenged leading to a fast development and progression to the standard of a Chartered Surveyor. It would be our expectation that you will be Chartered with the MRICS within 2-3 years.


This is a unique opportunity to join a new and rapidly growing business. You will have the opportunity to develop your commercial management, project management and business skills.


The role will require you to:

  • Plan and manage smaller projects including inspections and repair works, taking full responsibility to ensure they are delivered on time, budget and specification.
  • Assist in the management of larger projects, including specifications and tenders, working closely with Senior Engineers, Dive Supervisors and Project Teams.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills to deliver a range of maritime civil engineering projects.
  • Have an interest in commercial diving operations
  • Have an interest in working for an SME and input in to all areas of the business.
  • Maintain working relationships with a variety of clients and suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for new products and services which drive quality, efficiency and safety.
  • Develop company management systems and applications for third party accreditations.

You will have: An enthusiasm to build a career in the maritime civil engineering sector, and undertake further independent learning to address any gaps in your knowledge. A self-starter, with exceptional organisational skills.

  • Hold a Quantity Surveying degree (2:2 or above) accredited with RICS
  • An acute awareness of the importance of safe working practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • An ability to handle and make judgements based on commercial information.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to take on new challenges, build relationships and maintain effective internal and external networks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and especially verbal at all levels.
  • An ability to create clear and accurate project plans, and track their progress against milestones.
  • Willingness and ability to travel independently within the UK, and occasionally abroad to undertake project assignments.
