Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) London is a not for profit organisation that provides outstanding penultimate year under-graduate students from under-represented ethnic minority backgrounds a unique opportunity to gain summer internships at some of the most prestigious firms in the UK financial services industry. In 2008 more than 80% of SEO interns received job offers from partner firms after their internships, a success rate which is higher than the industry average. SEO grooms its interns to excel in the workplace and become leaders in their communities who will give back and forge a path to success for the next generation. How do you benefit? Training Before you begin your internship you will benefit from division specific training which will ensure you have the skills and knowledge to make you the best intern at your desk! Ongoing training is also available to you online so you can brush up on any areas that you feel need attention. The SEO team are always on hand to help develop your skliis and knowledge. Mentoring You will be matched with a mentor (typically a senior professional) to give you the support and advice that you will need along the way. You will also be partnered with a buddy from the previous year's class who will be able to give you more informal advice on how to secure that job! Networking You will given the opporunity to meet fellow SEO interns, recruitment representatives and directors from all our sponsor firms. Not only will you gain exposure to the top tier firms in the UK but you will also be able to build your network of contacts within the industry. Giving Back You can help us help others by donating your time in years to come to help us train and grow our charity. Giving back to the community is a huge element of what makes SEO so successful and we depend on our Alumni Network to enable us to keep providing studetns like you this invaluable opportunity. Are you eligible to apply? On track for a 2.1 or above Minimum 'BBB' at A level (or equivalent in UCAS points) No specific degree subject is required Broad knowledge of the finance industry is required Excellent quantitative and analytical skills Resourcefulness - the ability to think creatively to solve problems Self motivation - the focus and drive to be able to rise to challenges Assertiveness - the confidence to share opinions and insights and stick by them Diligence - the ability to maintain exceptionally high standards of work at all times |
