The summer Retail staff will mainly focus on maximising the sales of merchandise at the Palaces. Products on offer to visitors range from pencils and cups to luxury jewellery items. For the supervisory retail positions some experience in a busy retail environment would be an advantage. The Wardens welcome and provide information to visitors and assist in the, security and safety of the Palace buildings and grounds. Ticket Sales & Information Staff provide information to help enhance. visitors experience. They will also take bookings and sell tickets and guidebooks by telephone and onsite. Supervisors will be expected to set targets for their team and offer support in achieving them. If you are lucky enough to be selected for any of these summer jobs with The Royal Household then you should definitely find it a rewarding experience. In a recent staff survey by The Royal Household, 98 per cent of their employees said they enjoyed their time in the summer jobs. Many of them are eager to return the following year to work another summer at the Palaces. For all of these temporary positions, The Royal Household is looking for confident, approachable and responsible people with good communication and exceptional customer service skills. The Royal Household adds that, ‘all employees are expected to attain and demonstrate the high standards expected of an organisation which serves The Queen.’ Applicants must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom and should be able to speak fluent English. The closing date for all of these summer jobs is February 14th 2011 and interviews will be carried out at Buckingham Palace during February and March. Applicants must be available to work from mid-June until early October and are expected to carry out regular weekend work.
