Lidl Creating 1,000 New Supermarket Jobs & Warehouse Vacancies

German discount retail chain Lidl is creating 1,000 new supermarket jobs and warehouse vacancies across the United Kingdom.

Full and part time roles which will be up for grabs at Lidl include customer assistants, warehouse operatives and cleaners.

The hiring spree will be carried out over the next five months and the new recruits can look forward to hourly pay of £11.95 inside the M25 belt and at least £10.90 per hour outside of London.

Those starting rates of pay can increase to up to £13 per hour, depending on location and how long you’ve been with the company.

The new rates of pay at Lidl will make the grocery chain the highest paying supermarket in the UK.

Announcing the recruitment drive, Nan Gibson, Lidl’s Chief Human Resources Officer for Great Britain, said. “As our customer base continues to grow and as we open more new stores and warehouses we need more people to join team Lidl.”

“Not only will new colleagues be the highest paid in the industry as a result of our newly increased rates, they will also be part of an amazing team of people that are working to help make good food accessible to all households at a time that is so needed.”

“We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues across the country, whose hard work and loyalty mean that we are the fastest growing supermarket, with over 1.5 million more people shopping with us than last year,” added Ms Gibson.
