Aldi Creating 200 New Supermarket Jobs In & Around London
Discount German retailer Aldi has announced plans to create around 200 new full or part time supermarket jobs in and around London.
The grocery chain is set to open six new supermarkets in London this year, along with a further two new stores in nearby Epsom and Watford.
Each new store will create around 25 vacancies for students and other job seekers in London or areas within a short commute.
The new London branches of Aldi will be located in Hanworth (Twickenham Road), Hoxton, Marble Arch, Orpington West, Stepney Green and Willesden (High Road).
Announcing the £40 million expansion plans for 2026, the Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, Jonathan Neale, said:
“We know household budgets are still under pressure and too many Londoners don’t have an Aldi within easy reach.”
“These new stores will bring our unbeatable value to more families while creating around 200 new jobs across the capital,” added the MD.
For the fifth year running, consumer watchdog Which? has crowned Aldi as the UK’s most affordable supermarket. This winning streak continued into early 2026, with the retailer outperforming competitors in price comparisons for January, February and March based on a standard basket of 89 branded and private label items.
As well as the £40 million that Aldi is investing in London, the chain is also expecting to spend a further £370 million opening dozens more supermarkets across the rest of the UK throughout 2026.
