BT Announces Over 100 New Engineering Jobs In Scotland

BT, the British multinational telecoms services company, has announced plans to offer a further 113 engineering jobs in Scotland - with some of the new Scottish positions open to graduates.

The jobs will be within the company’s Openreach division, and, when the current round of recruitment is finished, the local network business will employ almost 3,000 people in Scotland.

Over 30 of the new BT jobs are earmarked for the Highlands, Islands and North East Scotland as the telecoms firm improves and maintains its infrastructure and rolls out its fibre network to more and more businesses and homes.

Commenting on the new positions, Openreach’s General Manager in Scotland, Fraser Rowberry, said: “These are high quality posts which offer engineers the chance of a fantastic career in a fast-paced, constantly evolving industry regardless of their background or gender.”

“Millions of Scots depend on our services and rely on us to keep them connected. Across the UK, we plan to recruit around 500 more front-line engineers this year, as well as apprentices and graduates. I’m delighted such a high proportion of this recruitment will be in Scotland,” added Mr Rowberry.

In March, BT announced plans to create 1,000 new graduate jobs and apprenticeships throughout the UK this year, with many of the new positions to be advertised in Glasgow.

We advertise a range of graduate engineering vacancies in Scotland throughout the year - with positions available for structural engineers, design engineers, electrical engineers and more. Most of our engineering positions are in the big cities like Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow, but we do advertise vacancies all over Scotland.
