Delivery Firm Evri To Create 2,500 Jobs Across The UK

Delivery firm Evri has announced plans to recruit 2,500 new workers across the UK as the parcel delivery firm continues to expand its operations in response to rising demand.

The recruitment drive follows a strong increase in parcel volumes, with the company reporting a 12 per cent rise year on year, handling 425 million parcels in the six months to 30 August. Evri says the sustained growth in online shopping has created a need for more staff across its nationwide network.

The expansion comes after Evri completed a merger with DHL’s UK ecommerce business earlier this year, creating one of the UK’s largest delivery operations. The combined business now handles more than a billion parcels and letters annually, significantly increasing Evri’s scale and reach.

Roles linked to the former DHL ecommerce operation are expected to form part of the current recruitment drive, with that side of the business set to operate as Evri Premium in the future.

The company says it is hiring for a wide range of roles nationwide. These include couriers, depot and hub workers, along with corporate and head office positions, offering opportunities for students and graduates with different levels of experience and availability.

With demand for parcel deliveries showing no signs of slowing, the company says the new roles will play a key part in supporting its next phase of growth.

Evri has also invested heavily in its infrastructure to support growth, committing £36 million to upgrades across its network to improve capacity and efficiency as volumes continue to rise.

Launching the recruitment spree, Chief Executive Officer at the Evri Group, Martijn de Lange, said: “We continue to deliver phenomenal growth at Evri and none more so than within our hard-working courier network, who are truly the backbone of our business.”

“At a time when many companies are reducing headcount and unemployment is growing, we’re proud to be creating thousands of opportunities and leading the way with initiatives like Evri Plus,” added the CEO.

Jobseekers interested in working for Evri can apply through the company’s official careers website, where vacancies can be searched by location and role type.
