500 New Call Centre Jobs In Cardiff & The North East

Firstsource Solutions, a Business Process Outsourcing company, is expanding its operations and will create up to 500 new full or part time call centre jobs within its firm.

The majority of the new Firstsource jobs will be Welsh vacancies, with 300 Cardiff jobs to be filled by the call centre specialist. The other 200 jobs will be split between parts of the North East, with around a hundred positions each for Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

The new Firstsource jobs in Wales will be based at the company’s existing office space at Cardiff Bay, but the expansion will see them swell their headcount by more than 37 per cent at the facility. The Cardiff vacancies will be a mix of customer service positions and sales roles, mainly working on behalf of one of Firstsource’s biggest clients, Sky.

Commenting on the Cardiff jobs, Firstsource Solutions’ Sales Vice President, Kathryn Chivers, said: “We already employ over 800 staff at our Cardiff centre, which was recently recognised as the leader in its field at the Welsh industry awards. This is a great opportunity to work for an organisation committed to providing an engaging workplace with excellent benefits, regular training and many development opportunities for a chance to grow within the business. Firstsource Solutions is delighted to be able to continue to bring new employment to Cardiff.”

Firstsource Solutions employs over 30,000 people in call centre roles worldwide, dealing with inbound and outbound calls for over 100 clients. The firm has around 50 contact centres, not only in the UK and Ä°reland, but also in India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and America.

Recruitments is already underway for the 500 new call centre jobs, but Jennifer Conroy, Firstsource Solutions’ HR officer explained what sort of candidates the company is looking for and why they should join the team:

“For the roles we are recruiting, while it is desirable to have contact sales centre experience, it is not essential, so they can appeal to people with a broad range of ages and skillsets. There is also attractive on-target earnings, a good bonus structure and benefits package available.”
