500 New London Supermarket Jobs With Aldi

Supermarket chain Aldi will create a further 500 full and part time jobs in London as it increases its presence in the city with nine new stores in 2015.

After its recent store opening in New Malden last month, Aldi has announced plans for more stores around the capital at Coulsdon, Dartford, Enfield, Ewell, Ilford, Romford, South Norwood and Tooting. With an average of over 50 new vacancies created at each new Aldi, the German supermarket chain will bring around 500 new supermarket jobs to London this year alone.

Tony Baines, joint MD of buying for Aldi, said: “Aldi is committed to investing in the UK and Greater London is a key area of growth for the business. With this will come a significant number of job opportunities for the Greater London area for both our existing and forthcoming stores.”

Aldi has recently taken over Waitrose to become the sixth biggest supermarket in the UK, with over 5 per cent share of the market.

Giles Hurley, the other joint MD of buying at Aldi UK, said: “Our unique ability to offer UK shoppers outstanding quality products at everyday low prices is key to driving our growth. I’m excited that Londoners will soon find it easier than ever to benefit from Aldi’s high quality produce at everyday low prices.”

We advertise thousands of full and part time jobs for students in London throughout the year, and Aldi themselves use the services of employment4students to recruit high quality students, graduates and apprentices to fill their UK vacancies.
