350 Call Centre Jobs At Webhelp TSC In Scotland

Webhelp TSC is to create a further 350 Scottish jobs after already filling 50 recent positions with young people under the age of 25.

The firm hopes to fill a major proportion of the remaining Scottish jobs with other young people over the course of the next two years. Indeed, the company has founded a dedicated training academy to boost youth employment levels in Scotland and the rest of Britain.

Webhelp TSC employs around 6,000 people in the UK in full and part time jobs, and around a half of their staff are based in Scotland.

The majority of the new call centre jobs in Scotland that Webhelp are creating will be based in Glasgow, but dozens of opportunities will also be advertised in Kilmarnock and Larbert. The company also has Scottish call centres at Greenock, Dunoon and Rothsay, so hopefully new positions may be created at those bases too over the coming years.

Chief executive of Webhelp TSC, David Turner, spoke encouragingly about his company’s job creation, saying the firm was ‘in almost constant recruitment mode.’

Scotland’s First Minister, Alex Salmond, praised the new investment in the country by Webhelp TSC and said: “Four hundred new jobs across the central belt of Scotland is fantastic news. In particular, it offers our young people enormous opportunities. I know Webhelp are keen to target young people for a large number of these jobs, in the hope they remain with the company for many years and are supported in their ambitions to learn and make progress.”
