Greene King To Create 3,000 Hospitality Jobs

11 Dec 2011

Greene King To Create 3,000 Hospitality Jobs Greene King, the brewing and pub company, will create up to 3,000 full or part time hospitality jobs over the course of the next three years.

Over the period, the business hopes to increase the number of pubs and restaurants in their portfolio by 250 to take them to around 1,100 outlets.

The new positions won’t all be pub and restaurant jobs, though - many vacancies will be created at Greene King’s hotels too. Some full or part time jobs will also open up at the company’s breweries where they manufacture beers such as Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen.

Greene King recently announced impressive financial figures considering that the brewing industry has found it difficult to thrive during the recession. The company acquired 35 new pubs over the last financial period and announced profits of over £75 million. They also created 800 jobs for apprentices during the period and hope to offer a further 1,200 apprenticeships over the next few years.

Chief executive of Greene King, Rooney Anand said: “You go to the pub with your mates or your family and you get a bit of much-needed solace. We have been investing in the downturn. We have been recruiting really good people. We are pleased to offer 1,000 new jobs for each of the following three years. Greene King has already got 20,000 people. We treat them as the biggest reason we succeed.”
