Hundreds Of New Christmas Jobs At Cardiff Shopping Centre St David’s Shopping Centre could bring as many as 500 new Christmas jobs to Cardiff.

The shopping centre in Wales has already created 4,000 full and part time jobs in Cardiff since opening its door in October 2009. And now new and existing retailers at the Cardiff shopping centre and are keen to take on Christmas staff to help them cope with what they hope will be a festive shopping frenzy.

The temporary positions and Christmas holiday jobs in Cardiff will be advertised on the St David’s Shopping centre website as and when they become available.

Some companies’ headcounts could increase by half as much again when all of their full and part time jobs in Cardiff are filled.

John Lewis is one major employer at the shopping centre and has 100 temporary Christmas jobs on offer for 2010.

Steven Madeley, director of the shopping centre, said that they had opened 100 stores at St David’s in their first year and had brought thousands of jobs to the local area. “The jobs pool has been varied and has encompassed part-time and full-time positions in retail, visual merchandising, catering, management, security and cleaning,” said Madeley.
