HR internships can give you valuable experience in a variety of sectors and you could find yourself doing your placement in any of these industries. Doing HR intern jobs means you are dealing with real people in a real workplace and, as well as your academic qualifications, this experience can give your CV a real boost for when you are applying for graduate jobs.
The role of HR staff is to create a system within a workplace whereby the most suitable employees are attracted to vacant roles and to advise management on the best ways to encourage those candidates to accept the job. The HR team are also responsible for liaising with other staff in the workplace to create an induction programme where new employees can feel settled and engaged right from day one. The HR team are also responsible for company policies and procedures that all staff work within. This can be disciplinary procedures, recruitment procedures, staff development programmes or procedures to go through when staff leave their job or are being made redundant. The best HR internships will see you gaining hands on experience in one or more of these areas. |
