India-based firm Hexaware has announced plans to create 250 new tech jobs in Birmingham.

Hexaware Technologies is opening new offices at Brindleyplace in Birmingham, a move which the company says will create hundreds of new digital and technology vacancies in the West Midlands’ city.

The global firm is initially looking for 60 new staff but is hoping to fill a further 190 vacancies before the end of 2025 at its new base in Birmingham.

Announcing the new vacancies, Chief Executive Officer of Hexaware Technologies, Srikrishna Ramakarthikeyan, said: “We want to deliver personalised services to our large and rapidly growing British customer base while helping build and improve the economy and talent in local communities.”

“Birmingham and the Midlands, with their rich and diverse talent base, offer immense potential to meet both objectives,” added the CEO.

The Mayor of West Midlands, Andy Street, welcomed the announcement by Hexaware Technologies, saying:

“Last year's trade mission to India helped us to further strengthen our region's economic ties with this dynamic nation on the rise. India is now one of our region's leading sources of foreign direct investment, and now the West Midlands Growth Company is spearheading our international strategy to further strengthen our reputation.”

“I'm pleased that Hexaware have made this commitment and I look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength here,” added Mr Street.

The Leader of Birmingham City Council, Councillor John Cotton, also commented, saying: “Birmingham is a hub of educational excellence, housing multiple institutions that consistently rank among the world’s top 100 universities.”

“Our city is not only home to these world-class universities, but it also offers an exceptional environment for both local and international students and skilled professionals.”
