Pharmaceutical firm Quotient Sciences is creating 100 new jobs at its facility in Northumberland.

Approximately 20 scientific and technical vacancies are on offer at the moment, and a further 80 are expected to be filled in the next few months.

The jobs will be based at Quotient Sciences’ facility in the market town of Alnwick, close to the iconic castle where scenes of both Harry Potter and Downton Abbey were filmed.

The new Northumberland jobs have been created after investment expansion plans of over £6 million and new recruits will join the company’s existing headcount of around 200 members of staff.

Quotient Sciences employs people in a wide variety of roles, including analytical science, bioanalysis, chemistry and radiosynthesis.

Announcing the latest round of recruitment, the Senior Vice President of Quotient Sciences, who is also in charge of developing new talent, Paul Ryan, said:

“In 2023, the pace of growth is set to continue with the expansion of our aseptic manufacturing capability at the Alnwick site, along with continued growth across all areas of the business. This will provide opportunities for technical and manufacturing roles in drug product manufacturing.”

“We are a growing site, creating opportunities for career growth both within the Alnwick team and as part of the wider Quotient Sciences organisation.”
