LWC Drinks, a Manchester-based wholesaler and distributor of drinks, has announced plans to create dozens of full or part time warehouse jobs in Yorkshire.
The uptick in demand for soft drinks and alcohol which the company, founded in 1979, is experiencing has led the company to invest in a new depot in Yorkshire’s Doncaster which will create at least 35 distribution and warehouse jobs.
The distribution hub will also allow LWC Drinks to take on a further 16 members of staff in their sales, marketing and office support functions.
The Doncaster warehouse facility will be LWC's fourth new depot in the last twelve months and the recruitment drive will add to the 300 vacancies the firm has already created since the start of 2022.
Announcing the latest expansion plans, LWC Drinks’ managing director, Ebrahim Mukadam, said:
“Opening this new depot in Doncaster marks another crucial step forward in our growth plans. Expanding our national footprint is imperative in the future of our business, so we can continue to support our partners where they need us the most.”
“By actively securing more warehousing space and creating new, quality jobs in the process, we're working hard to invest in the future. 2022 was a record-breaking year for LWC.”
“We're fortunate enough to see a growth in turnover over the last year and identified a need to increase our storage capacity to meet customer demands and drive efficiencies through the business and for our customers. In fact, we have added 350,000 square feet of distribution space over the last year alone,” added Mr Mukadam.
Offering some details as to why he’s enjoyed a warehouse role with the company, Nick Bowers, a warehouse supervisor at LWC’s Hereford Depot, said:
“I have been able to keep progressing my career whilst meeting some fantastic people. You can always have a good laugh with the team.”
