Pets at Home's new office, storage and distribution centre in Staffordshire is close to completion and the company is now offering hundreds of jobs for students and residents in the area.

Interested candidates can apply for a variety of positions, with over 750 members of staff expected to be employed at the site upon completion.

The construction of the 670,000 square foot facility is set to be finished before the end of 2023 and hundreds of Stafford jobs are still to be filled at the site.

Launching the recruitment drive for the new Pets At Home hub, Frances Beatty MBE, the economic development and planning portfolio for Stafford Borough Council, said:

“This is further demonstration of the many millions of pounds of investment that we are helping to bring to our borough. We have major developments planned, underway, or recently delivered in both the private and public sectors.”

“We are already working with our local businesses to make sure they are aware of the opportunities to provide goods and services that Pets at Home, with more than 750 employees, may require.”

“The jobs Pets at Home will need include highly skilled positions, such as in finance and planning - and highly skilled jobs are something our council has been proactively encouraging when attracting new businesses to the borough,” added Ms Beatty.

Philip White, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, also commented, saying: “Pets at Home preparing to start its operations at its new Stafford site is a significant milestone and great news for the company and the county town.”

“Pets at Home will bring a range of employment opportunities to the county in the coming months and our Staffordshire Jobs and Careers Service will be on hand to support them whenever needed in reaching appropriate local candidates,” said Mr White.
