Deichmann, the German shoe retail chain, has announced plans to create dozens of new warehouse jobs in Northamptonshire.

The company, which employs over 40,000 people in full and part time roles around the world, is opening a 15,000 square metre distribution facility in Northampton’s Corby.

The move will create around 50 full and part time vacancies at the new warehouse which is located off Corby’s Phoenix Parkway on the Centrix Business Park.

The new £3 million Deichmann warehouse in Corby is just 12 miles from the company’s UK headquarters in Market Harborough.

Announcing the warehouse jobs at the new logistics hub, Deichmann-UK Shoes’ chairman of the board of Directors, Samuel Deichmann, said:

“We are thrilled to open our brand new Corby warehouse. Deichmann is experiencing strong success both in our online growth and expansion of UK stores, the new warehouse will allow us to enhance our service and ensure we can keep pace with customer demand.”

Deichmann was founded in 1913 and the chain opened their first store in the UK in 2001. The retailer has around 120 stores in the United Kingdom and over 4,000 more outlets in over 30 countries around the world.
