Hewlett Packard Enterprise To Create 300 Manchester Jobs & Apprenticeships

IT firm Hewlett Packard Enterprise has announced plans which will see the American computer company create 300 jobs and apprenticeships in Manchester.

Initially, the first 140 of the new recruits will be based at HPE’s new offices in the Manchester Technology Centre. Next year, Hewlett Packard Enterprise will move all of its Manchester staff to a new location on the seventh floor of No. 1 Circle Square.

Once the new Circle Square offices are ready for action, they will provide enough room to host 300 full and part time staff in the North West city.

HPE is now recruiting for around 15 apprentices and is offering some graduate roles in Manchester too. At the moment, most of the roles are sales positions but there also some business analyst vacancies on offer too.

Announcing the recruitment drive in the North West city, the Managing Director for Hewlett Packard Enterprise in the UK & Ireland, Marc Waters said: “Today we officially open our office at the Manchester Technology Centre which is the first step towards our permanent Manchester office in Circle Square.”

“Manchester is vibrant, innovative and growing, so is well aligned with our business and our culture. People make companies and as we continue to grow, recruiting and developing talent is a priority. Manchester is a growth location, we currently have over 40 open roles with more to follow.”

“We bring together the brightest minds to advance the way people live and work. Come and get involved,” encouraged Mr Waters.

The Chief Executive Officer for Manchester’s inward investment agency MIDAS, Tim Newns, also commented, saying: “Manchester has long been renowned as a city with digital in its DNA. For Manchester to attract investment and jobs growth from global tech giant Hewlett Packard Enterprise firmly demonstrates the depth and scale of specialist tech talent that is making us the location of choice for ambitious firms.”

In addition to Manchester, Hewlett Packard Enterprise also has offices in London, Belfast, Bracknell, Bristol, Erskine and Warrington, providing jobs for hundreds of UK people. Worldwide, HPE has a global employee headcount of around 60,000 staff.
