Capital One To Create 200 New IT Jobs In London

Capital One, the credit card and finance company, has announced plans which will see it create 200 new IT jobs in London.

The company already employs 50 members of staff at its City Office, but a move to new offices across two floors of the White Collar Factory EC1 building on Silicon Roundabout will allow Capital One to recruit a further 200 software engineers in London.

The White Collar Factory EC1 building is due for completion before the end of this year and Capital One hopes to move into its new offices there next February on an eleven year lease.

Commenting on the London recruitment drive, Capital One UK’s Chief Executive Officer, Chris Newkirk, said: “To continue to win as digital redefines our industry, we are building the talent and capabilities of a leading information-based technology company. We are rapidly growing our software engineering, design, data science and product management teams. This involves the recruitment of hundreds of specialists - we felt The White Collar Factory was the perfect solution to our future accommodation needs.”

“Being based at Silicon Roundabout will enable us to draw upon the wealth of technological expertise the City has to offer, enabling us to attract and retain premium talent,” added Mr Newkirk.

Graduates in London are amongst the best placed in the country if they want to get in IT, digital and tech roles - either in permanent roles or on temporary contracts. The capital city is home to some of the biggest salaries for graduates working in the IT sector, so why not grab a piece of the action yourself?
