Cheshire Jobs Coming At New Debenhams

27 Dec 2012

Cheshire Jobs Coming At New Debenhams Planning permission has been granted for a new Debenhams store which will create up to 150 jobs in Cheshire in 2013.

The new full or part time jobs will be added at Ellesmere Port’s Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, the UK’s largest outlet centre.

The Debenhams store will take up over five and a half thousand square metres of floor space and should be a welcome addition to the existing 140+ brand name outlets at Cheshire Oaks.

Other stores taking up more than 250,000 square feet of retail space at the Cheshire Designer Outlet include Marks & Spencer, Next, Nike, Adidas - and a range of restaurants and cafes.

The Designer outlet, which is just over half an hour away from Manchester, employs hundreds of staff on a full or part time basis, and the new Debenhams jobs will be a boost to the economy of the local area.

Speaking to the local press in Ellesmere Port, West Cheshire College’s Principal, Sara Mogel, said she was in favour of the new Debenhams and the Cheshire jobs it will bring to the region.

“The proposal is an excellent opportunity to bring new jobs to the area, provide training opportunities for local people as well as strengthening Ellesmere Port’s economy. The college supports the proposal and the investment being made by one of the UK’s leading retailers,” said Ms Mogel.
