Scottish Power Creating Over 300 Trainee & Graduate Jobs

Scottish Power, one of the UK's leading energy companies, has announced its biggest ever early career intake, with 325 roles available for its 2025 graduate and trainee programmes.

The energy giant is seeking to fill over 200 trainee positions and more than 100 graduate placements across various disciplines including engineering, technology and project management.

Successful applicants will have the chance to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the UK's transition to a greener future. Roles are available in key locations across the UK, including:

  • Scotland: Supporting the upgrade of the country's transmission network and enabling the integration of renewable energy sources.

  • Merseyside and North Wales: Contributing to the operation and maintenance of critical energy infrastructure.

  • East Anglia: Supporting the development of offshore wind projects.

Announcing the news, the strategic workforce renewals manager for ScottishPower Energy Networks, Jennifer Davies, said:

“We are excited to kick off our recruitment period for the 2025 graduate intake, which will be our largest to date. We are looking to attract over 100 new graduate entrants into our growing business. These are truly exciting times ahead as we continue to expand and innovate with fresh talent joining our team.”

Jonathan Naftalin is a current graduate trainee engineer at ScottishPower Energy Networks. In a media release the company quoted him as saying: “The graduate programme has given me opportunities to get involved in substantive, high impact projects that affect the future of the UK’s energy infrastructure.”

“The structure of the graduate programme has given me exposure to different parts of the business, which has been vital for forging new relationships and developing a broad understanding of how we operate our distribution and transmission businesses,” said the graduate trainee.

ScottishPower's commitment to investing in the UK's energy future has been reinforced by its recent decision to double its investment to £24 billion by 2028. This significant investment will create numerous opportunities for talented individuals to join the company and shape the energy landscape.
