New M&S Food Hall Could Create Dozens Of Full Or Part Time Jobs In Northampton
British retailer M&S has revealed plans for a new food hall which could create dozens of full and part time jobs in Northampton.
Planning permission for the new outlet at Northampton’s Riverside Retail Park is yet to be approved but M&S has confirmed that the venture would create around 70 vacancies.
M&S already has one Food Hall in Northampton at Sixfields Retail Park, but now hopes that West Northamptonshire Council will give the green light for a second store in the town.
The new M&S food hall is set to cover half of an existing Homebase store which is due to close in early September.
Announcing the plans for the new food hall at Riverside Retail Park, property director for M&S, Will Smith, said: “M&S is opening stores across the country and this site in Northampton would make a fantastic location for an M&S Food Hall and would create 70 jobs.”
“The show stopping store would be one of the most modern in the UK, offering local shoppers a fresh market-style Food Hall complete with an in-store bakery for freshly baked breads and pastries, a dedicated flower shop, wine shop and card and wrap shop, as well as M&S’ signature cheese barge, click & collect facilities and interactive features throughout,” added Mr Smith.
Explaining why you might want to apply for a role at M&S, the company’s careers site says:
“We’re not just embracing a new era of retail, we’re here to lead it. We’re hands-on, sleeves rolled up, we get the job done and we always aim higher. In every area, we set the standard for others to follow. Developing new products customers love. Crafting experiences they’ve never seen before. Making sustainable and ethical business our priority. This is your chance to help transform a global business.”
