The Capital One classic credit card is one of the most popular credit card deals on the market ideal for those who have no or little credit history or who have had credit history problems in the past. The Capital One Classic Credit Card offers a credit limit of up to £2,500, the ability to spread your payments and a Free identity theft service. The Classic card doesn't however have an interest free balance transfer function or interest free period on purchases and the APR is HIGH at 34.9% so you'll want to clear your balance quickly, but for small purchases to aid cash flow the Capital One Classic Credit card is a great option.

The Virgin Credit card offers a fantastic rate of 0% balance transfers for 16 months and 0% on card purchases for 3 months, but the rate does then increases to 16.6% APR after this. The Virgin Mastercard also offers free purchase protection insurance, free travel accident insurance, discounts such as 1 month free with Virgin Media as well as 10% off at Virgin Trains on all Value advance fares when you pay with your Virgin credit card. So, if you're clever you can take advantage of the 0% balance transfer interest and pay no interest for 16 months apart from up front 2.98% transfer fee, and then transfer out before the balance transfer period ends on to another card, essentially providing you with an interest free loan. This is totally legal, just make sure you keep your repayments up!!

Natwest Student Credit Cards

The Natwest Student Credit Card is specifically designed to help student with their cash flow, but to keep a limit on the spending and offer some great discounts with the credit card. Natwest offer a credit limit of up to £500 and an interest free period of 56 days on purchases, so if your balance off in time, you won't pay any interest. The Natwest Student credit card also offers cash advance of up to £300 should you really need it, but be aware that there is a 3% charge on the amount you take out, and the a higher interest rate of 27.9% on the cash that is advanced. however, again, if you settle this balance to zero before the 56 days, then it's only the 3% charge. To top all this, there are a host of student savings offered including 25% of Lonely Planet guides, £5 Firebox voucher, 15% off at Kitbag when paying with your Natwest card and even card holder offers from the Natwest Wine Club. Capital One Platinum Credit Card

The Capital One platinum card is a great option for people with an excellent credit rating, so in most cases you must be earning in excess of £20,000 per year. The capital One card currently offers 8.5% p.a. fixed until 1st August 2012 on both balance transfers and purchases. There is also 0 balance handling free. The Halifax "all in one" credit card currently offers 10 month 0% interest on balance transfers for 10 months, subject to 3% switiching fee). The card also offers no annual fee, and 59 interest free credit on all purchases if the balance in full is paid off each month. So if you just need a credit card for cash flow and can pay off any purchase you make within 59 days then you can use the card and pay nothing. This great credit card also offers great peace of mind with cover against online fraud when purchasing on the internet. Overall, a great card for balance transfers and cash flow.

HSBC Bank Credit Card

- 12 months free interest on purchases, 2.9% for balance transfers for 2 years, and only a 2.5% fee for moving your money from another credit card.. as well a typical interest rate of just 15.9%
- HSBC have put together a great credit card here, competitive in every area with a good balance transfer angle, cheap to move your debt over, and really good fro credit card purchases.
- As a student credit card the 12 months interest free on purchases could be ideal! They also have a dedicated student credit card offer - 18.9% APR

Vanquis Credit Card

This is for all those people who have been refused credit cards by other providers due to a non-existent credit history (no credit cards etc in the past) or past credit problems.

A typical variable APR of 39.9% makes it quite an expensive credit card - but the ease of getting the card overrules this. They also provide manageable credit limits to stop you getting out of your depth and allowing you to stay in control.
