    Capital One Credit Card

The classic Capital One credit card is one of the most popular credit card deals on the market, it's fairly easy to get and gives you spending power of between £200 and £2500. An interest rate of 34.9% APR means you should pay off your outstanding balance as quick as possible as it is not a cheap credit card, but the guarantee of a decision within 1 minute is a great reason to get it, especially if you're looking for a student credit card.

Capital One also do other credit cards - the Platinum is particularly good with 0 interest on balance transfers for around 10 months and same on purchases. With only a 1.7% balance transfer fee this is a great deal - but you must already have an excellent credit rating.. big drawback!
